Muddy area
Coarse #57 limestone firms up muddy walkways and parking spots while letting water through. Shell on top gives a finished surface.
Mud that keeps coming back is often a drainage issue, not just a surface one.

Low spot to fill
Fill dirt builds up depth and compacts well. Finish with a few inches of topsoil where grass or plants will grow.
Low spots that hold water for days may need regrading or drainage, not just fill.

Drainage or French drain
#57 limestone leaves gaps for water to move through, which is why it is used in French drains and drainage trenches. Rip rap protects outlets and swales from washing out.
Drain layout matters as much as the stone. We can help design and install it.

Landscape bed
Topsoil and compost build the growing layer. Mulch or small crushed shell finishes the bed, holds moisture and keeps weeds down.

Erosion or washout
Rip rap armors slopes, swales and outlets against moving water. Fill dirt rebuilds washed-out areas before they are protected.

Top-dressing a lawn
A thin layer of topsoil or compost levels minor dips and helps thin lawns fill in.

New planting or sod

Improving sandy soil
Organic compost adds the organic matter sandy soil lacks, so it holds moisture and nutrients longer.

Decorative rock or shell
Small crushed shell and medium shell give a coastal look for paths and borders. #89 limestone is a finer stone for walkways and decorative areas.

Base under pavers or a pad
Paver base is compacted in layers for a stable foundation. Paver sand forms the smooth bedding layer the pavers sit on.
Driveways need a deeper base than walkways and patios.

Sandbox or septic work
Play sand is soft and fine for sandboxes. Septic sand is for drain-field work to your installer's specification. Mason sand suits masonry and leveling.

Something comfortable to walk on
Small crushed shell is the most comfortable of the loose surfaces underfoot, including barefoot. #89 limestone packs firmer and stays put on a slope. Mulch suits a soft path through a bed.
Larger stone such as #57 is hard to walk on. Edging keeps a path from spreading into the lawn.

Around a drain, pipe or downspout
Clean #57 limestone lets water move freely into and around a drain, and it does not pack shut the way material with fines does. Rip rap protects the ground where a pipe discharges and water lands.
Where the water goes matters more than what sits around the inlet. We can look at the whole path before you buy material.

Send the material, amount and address. We confirm the current price and delivery fee before anything is scheduled. 3 yard minimum.
Material or a bigger fix?
Sometimes the right material is only part of the answer. A driveway that keeps rutting may need a base. A low spot that holds water for days may need regrading or a drain. If that’s the case, we’ll say so, and we can do the work as well as deliver the material.
